Take it all in

Whether we understand it or not life is so very fragile. As I look around at the world today and see so many natural catastrophes and wonder how they came to be, and why now, and how is it that with so much technology they could not foreshadow this coming. Any minute now, it could happen to any one of us, and yet there are days that we wish would hurry up and end.
In light of recent events, I sometimes let my mind wander to the events of the day of a person who loses their life. They wake up, like every other day, shower and brush their teeth, put on their favourite t-shirt, have a piece of toast, and on their way to work they go. They might stop in at the petrol station to fill up, or at their local cafe to grab a coffee.
And then it happens.
Out of nowhere.
To think that when they woke up just hours before, they had no idea.
We’ve all heard that if earth was one degree closer to the sun we would burn, and if we were one degree away, we would all freeze. How incredibly fragile this world really is. Who can account for mother nature's beautiful morning sunrises and the storms that brew in the early evening?
This is not meant to be a depressing post, at least my intention was that it wasn’t so. It was meant so be a breath of fresh air, a reminder to sit back and take a look at everything you have, everyone you have, and appreciate it all. The good and the bad.
Take it all in, live, love, laugh, appreciate, enjoy and be happy in this fragile world, and with this fragile life we have.
